From al-Qaeda terrorist to CIA “Freedom Fighter”: one man’s journey from Europe to Libya

In the bloody terror-fueled conflicts that have been waged by the U.S. and NATO in Libya and Syria, one man has helped to recruit so-called “freedom fighters” and unleash them on those countries’ innocent civilians. But he has yet to be brought to justice. by Steven Sahiounie Part 3 - Linking Ireland to Western-backed terrorists Al-Harati’s home country of Ireland is tightly connected to the same terrorists that he has worked with for years. After the Manchester and London terrorist attacks in early summer 2017, it came to light that they had a strong link to Ireland. We now know that the government of Ireland has been consistently supporting radical Wahhabist terrorists in Syria, describing them as “freedom fighters.” Ireland itself has a long history of homegrown terrorism. There is also a long-established trend of terrorist groups having helped each other in joint ventures – one hand washing the other. The deserts of Libya were home to Irish terrorists-in-trai

Automation and the planned obsolescence of the Proletariat

Garry Glass discusses how advances in automation are disrupting class relations. Part 6 - Planned obsolescence of the Proletarian subject If automation is to be adopted then it should be because the workers themselves want it, that they may find more useful things to do with the new efficiency gains. Without worker engagement it is much more likely to look like planned obsolescence of the worker themselves. The question automation poses labour is a crisis for the proletarian subject – how will we reproduce our lives, in a world dominated by access to a wage – when gaining full time, well remunerated or secure employment has become destabilized? Our bargaining power within the capitalist system either comes from our ability to sell our labour, or through our ownership of property. Whilst the working population have been enchanted by accumulating goods and using services, they have not been accumulating their own means of production. The crisis in wag

Saudi blockade triggers massive cholera epidemic in Yemen, claiming one life each hour

Saudi Arabia’s war in Yemen and its continuing blockade of Yemeni ports has virtually collapsed the country and basic necessities are in dangerously short supply. Now, Yemen finds itself unable to treat a rapidly growing cholera outbreak that claims the life of one civilian every hour. by Whitney Webb In March, the world looked on as the Saudi-led coalition – which has been fighting a deadly war in Yemen since 2015 – moved to expand its naval blockade of Al Hudaydah, Yemen’s largest port. The move drew the consternation of the United Nations, as well as the Russian Foreign Ministry, with the latter warning that the operation “ would not only inevitably lead to a mass exodus of the [local] population but would also de facto cut the [Yemeni] capital of Sanaa from… food and humanitarian aid supplies. ” Those warnings have now come to fruition, as a massive cholera outbreak has already begun to spiral out of control after two weeks.
