United
Nations secretary-general, Ban Ki-moon, made a statement
at the opening of General Assembly's annual ministerial meeting on
Tuesday, that actually depicts the degree of degeneration of
international relations and institutions:
“Present
in this hall today are representatives of governments that have
ignored, facilitated, funded, participated in or even planned and
carried out atrocities inflicted by all sides of the Syria conflict
against Syrian civilians,”
The head of
the United Nations actually admitted that in the meeting were present
some representatives of the big corporate interests who conduct proxy
wars in a brutal geopolitical game, sacrificing millions of lives.
Moreover, he can't do anything about it!
Ki-moon of
course wouldn't dare to name specifically those representatives,
because he would have to refer not only to the Russian officials for
supporting the Assad regime, but also to the Western leaders and
their allies, who are the main responsible for the Syrian chaos,
after all.
Therefore,
he would have to refer to Saudi Arabia and Turkey, as plenty of
evidence showed that these countries, allies of the Western powers,
conducted a proxy war against Assad, by supporting ISIS barbarians
through various ways.
He would
also have to refer to the United States and other main Western powers
that armed and trained various groups of the so-called "Syrian
opposition", which were related in many cases with extremists
close to ISIS, in another proxy war against Assad. The result was the
absolute chaos in the Middle East.
Under
different circumstances, many of these representatives could be
easily charged with war crimes, but not in this world.
A small
sample of the Western determination to topple Assad regime can be
identified in Francois Hollande's statements
as he “blamed the Syrian regime for the collapse of a
recently-brokered US-Russian ceasefire. 'The Syrian tragedy will be
seen by history as a disgrace for the international community if we
do not end it quickly,' he told the General Assembly in New York.”
The
goal of West remains the same. No matter what it takes, no matter how
many more people will lose their lives and homes, Assad must be
eliminated. That's all they care about, in order to open the road for
the corporate invasion, as they did in Libya.
Think about
it. These hypocritical clowns frequently wonder why the fascists are
rising in Europe and elsewhere. They should look in the mirror, and
just for once, make an honest self-criticism.
